Another McNeil River, Alaska bear.....this one relaxing in the grass, but with an intent look. I love the texture and pattern of the fur in this one and the complex colors.

After months of thinking about how I wanted to do a really large scratchboard etching, I decided to go with background/foreground done in the medium instead of oil. The power of this large bear and swirling, splashing water is a strong image and translated with interesting effect into the scratchboard look. Now that my first large etching is done, there will be more!

This bear is fishing on the McNeil River in Alaska.

A glorious sunset celebrates the arrival home.......

His mountain home is within site as this cowboy tops the last ridge. Soon he will be home next to a warm fire, his horse resting in the barn.
