Musings of an unhinged mind.

Hi friends,

An art show in Missoula, Montana was my choice for the end of my show year. It went well, for a rather new show and this strong piece entitled "Power" was one of the originals that sold.

Missoula was practicing up for winter with arctic weather and snow though that doesn't much slow down people that are a hardy lot and used to business mostly as usual through it all. 

I didn't mind much, though it seems life had decided to remind me of the kindness of others. 

The old truck that has been my ride into battle, taking me to the art shows for years, finally showed her fallible side.

On the 12 mile drive into Missoula from where I was staying, a very long vapor trail marked our progress down the turnpike. Not a particularly good thing I was thinking, and it wasn't.

As I could smell the anti-freeze and the cab was filling with fog, and with one eye on the temp gauge I figured I could get to the nearest exit and a truck stop where a wonderful employee called around and found an auto parts shop that was open on that Sunday.

So with my dear friend Donna, also headed to the show, giving me a ride to the parts place, I gathered up the heater hose, a pair of needle nose pliers and *plenty* of antifreeze.

Back to the truck stop where I managed to get one end of the hose off and new one hooked up, when 2 angels saved me and my truck by hooking up the other (difficult) end.

I was a frozen popsicle by then with bitter cold wind blowing....so I offer my heartfelt thank you angels, I will remember you always.

Now this day, as I sit next to a fire in the stove, reminds me that a new year is indeed on it's way, my first action was to sign up for a month long webinar on business organization with Alyson Stanfield and to order Seth Godin's new book, WHAT TO DO WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN, that will deliver on his promise of a full charge ahead into the unknown.  

It feels good to make needed steps to move on up in the wildlife art business and somehow seems more real than waiting to make it a "New Year's resolution".
